This Vendor Agreement (“Agreement”) governs your participation as a Tasketeer (“Vendor”) on The Tasketeers platform. By registering as a Vendor, you agree to the terms below.
1. Independent Contractor Status
Vendors are independent contractors. The Tasketeers is not an employer, partner, or agent of any Vendor. Vendors are solely responsible for the services they provide.
2. Non-Circumvention / Non-Compete
Vendors acknowledge that all customers introduced through The Tasketeers are the platform’s customers. Vendors agree:
- Not to solicit or accept direct payment from any customer introduced through the platform.
- This restriction applies for life, even after termination of your account.
Violation may result in legal action and permanent account termination.
3. Commission
- The Tasketeers collect a 25% (20% Commission + 5% for Transaction fees) on every booking.
- Commission is deducted from the total amount paid by the customer.
- Vendor payouts are made at least 24 hours after customer payment is received.
- If a refund is issued and the Vendor is deemed at fault, The Tasketeers may recover the commission from the Vendor.
4. Refunds
- Refunds are at the discretion of The Tasketeers after reviewing complaints from both customer and vendor.
- Partial refunds may be issued depending on circumstances.
- Vendors agree that The Tasketeers may deduct refund amounts from Vendor payouts if deemed necessary.
5. Background Checks
- All Tasketeers are required to provide proof of a valid Criminal Record Check upon joining the platform and annually thereafter. Failure to provide current proof may result in suspension or termination of your Tasketeer account.
- Tasketeers who additionally obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check are encouraged to submit proof of this as well. Those who do will receive a Vulnerable Sector Verification on their profile, visible to all clients and their families. This badge is optional but may significantly increase client confidence and booking rates.
- All background check documentation is reviewed by The Tasketeers and must be current within the past 12 months.
6. Insurance
- Vendors may optionally provide proof of insurance.
- Vendors who indicate they are insured must supply proof upon request.
- Vendors may also operate uninsured, if they choose, but must disclose this.
7. Vendor Conduct
Vendors agree to:
- Maintain a professional, clean appearance appropriate to their service category.
- Provide services ethically and professionally, avoiding harassment or inappropriate behavior.
- Follow safety protocols and all applicable laws.
- Maintain equipment and personal hygiene consistent with service standards.
The Tasketeers may suspend or terminate Vendor accounts for:
- Poor quality service
- Repeated negative customer feedback
- Inappropriate behavior
- Criminal activity (authorities will be notified if relevant)
8. Vendor Safety & Work Conditions
Vendors have the right to refuse any assignment or service if they feel the environment is unsafe, unhealthy, or otherwise uncomfortable.
- Vendors are not obligated to provide services in locations where they reasonably believe their safety, health, or well-being could be at risk.
- The Tasketeers support Vendors in prioritizing their safety. Customers who attempt to pressure Vendors into unsafe conditions may be subject to account suspension or bans.
- Vendors must promptly report any unsafe conditions or incidents to The Tasketeers.
9. Termination
The Tasketeers reserves the right to suspend or terminate any Vendor account at its discretion, including but not limited to:
- Violations of this Agreement
- Breach of platform rules
- Poor service quality
- Inappropriate conduct
- Failure to provide required documentation (background check, insurance proof)
10. Liability
Vendors acknowledge that The Tasketeers is not responsible for:
- Service outcomes
- Customer satisfaction
- Direct interactions between Vendors and Customers
Vendors agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Tasketeers for claims arising from their services.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and applicable federal laws.
12. Agreement Acceptance
By registering as a Vendor, you confirm that you have:
- Read and understood this Agreement
- Agreed to abide by all rules, policies, and standards outlined
- Agreed that a violation may result in suspension, termination, or legal action
